What is the Nelson Mandela Fidel Castro Medical Programme:
Launched as a collaboration between South Africa and Cuba, the NMFCMP is a government-funded international bursary programme that sends selected South African students to Cuba to pursue MBChB (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) qualifications. On completion, students return to serve in South Africa’s public healthcare system.
To qualify, you must meet the following criteria:
Academic Requirements:
✅ Must have a Grade 12 Senior Certificate with university entrance
✅ Minimum of 50% (level 4) in the following subjects:

Life Sciences (Biology)

⚠️ Note: You must not be registered at any higher education institution (public or private), nor have received any other form of bursary funding.
