Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) is one of South Africa’s leading universities of technology, offering high-quality education in applied sciences, technology, and professional studies. With over 60,000 students and more than 300 career-focused programmes, TUT provides opportunities for students across Gauteng, Mpumalanga, and Limpopo, with learning centres in Durban and Cape Town.

For 2027, TUT applications open on 1 April 2026. This guide will help you apply, check requirements, and secure your spot at TUT.

TUT 2027 Online Applications:

  • Application Period: Opens 1 April 2026 – Apply early to avoid missing out.

 

Important Notes:

  • Life Orientation and Level 1 subjects are not included in APS calculation.
  • Admission requires prior evaluation of results.
  • Application deadlines vary per programme—early submission is highly recommended.
  • Late applications may not be considered.

 

Minimum Admission Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree:

  • At least 4 subjects at Level 4 (NSC or equivalent).
  • English (Level 3) required.
  • Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy depending on the programme.

Diploma:

  • At least 4 subjects at Level 3.

Additional Info:

  • Grade 11 or mid-year Grade 12 results may be used for provisional admission.
  • A National Senior Certificate (NQF Level 4) or equivalent is required.
