What is the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation Fellowship:
The Fellowship Programme is designed to support young South Africans who show entrepreneurial potential. It provides not just funding but also training, mentorship, and access to a network of like-minded individuals, helping to develop future leaders who will drive economic and social change.
Successful candidates will receive:
- Full or needs-based funding for university tuition and accommodation
- A book and general monthly allowance
- Access to tutoring sessions and counselling services
- Mentorship and leadership development
Requisit to apply:
- Current Grade 12 learners in the year of application
- Indication of entrepreneurial flair and passion
- South African citizenship
- Demonstrable belief in the future of our country
- Intention to study towards a Commerce, Science (excluding Medicine, Veterinary Science and Dentistry), Engineering, Law, Humanities or Arts degree at the University of the Witwatersrand, University of Johannesburg, University of Cape Town, Nelson Mandela University, Rhodes University, University of the Western Cape, Stellenbosch University, University of Pretoria, University of the Free State, University of KwaZulu-Natal or TSIBA Business School
- Candidates must not be older than 21 years of age in the current year
Who Can Apply:
To be eligible, you must:
✅ Be a South African citizen
✅ Be in Grade 12 in 2025
✅ Be 21 years old or younger
✅ Have at least 60% in Pure Mathematics OR 80% in Mathematical Literacy in Grade 11
✅ Have a minimum 70% average (excluding Life Orientation) in Grade 11
✅ Plan to study a degree in Commerce, Science (excluding Medicine and related fields), Engineering, Law, Humanities, or Arts
✅ Intend to study at one of the partner universities:
- University of Cape Town
- University of Johannesburg
- University of Pretoria
- Stellenbosch University
- Rhodes University
- University of the Witwatersrand
- Nelson Mandela University
- University of KwaZulu-Natal
- University of the Free State
- University of the Western Cape
- TSIBA Business School
Application Process & Deadline
The application process includes multiple stages:
