
UNISA 2025 Second Semester Applications Now Open for Limited Programmes
The University of South Africa (UNISA), the largest open distance learning institution on the continent, has officially opened applications for Semester 2 of the 2025 academic year. This application period is a vital opportunity for students who missed the first-semester deadline or wish to begin or continue their academic journey through UNISA’s flexible and accredited learning system.

UNISA’s second semester intake serves as a gateway for thousands of prospective students across South Africa and beyond. Whether you’re starting your first qualification, switching to a new programme, or resuming studies after a break, this window allows you to take the next step toward your educational goals.
You should apply if:
- You are applying to UNISA for the first time
- You were previously registered at UNISA but did not register for the 2025 academic year
- You are currently a UNISA student and want to change your qualification or specialisation
- You applied previously and were not accepted, or were accepted but did not register
- You have completed a Higher Certificate or another programme and wish to continue your undergraduate studies
All prospective students must apply during the official application period. Late applications will not be considered.
Ensure the following documents are ready in electronic format:
- Certified copy of your ID or passport
- Certified copy of school qualifications or academic transcript
- Proof of payment of the application fee (if required)
- Marriage or divorce certificate (if applicable)
Application Fee:
The application fee is R135 and is non-refundable. Payment must be made online as part of the application process.

- Upload certified copies of all required supporting documents
