The Limpopo Department of Transport and Community Safety has officially opened 154 Learnership opportunities for Learner Traffic Officers for a period of 12 months. This programme is designed to empower South African youth with skills and work exposure in the traffic law enforcement field.
The Department is committed to employment equity and encourages applications from women and youth across all race groups, with special emphasis on Whites, Coloureds, and Indians in line with the Department’s Employment Equity Plan.
Available Positions by District:
- Capricorn District: 31 positions (Ref No. LDTCS L1/2025)
- Sekhukhune District: 33 positions (Ref No. LDTCS L3/2025)
- Mopani District: 32 positions (Ref No. LDTCS L2/2025)
- Vhembe District: 31 positions (Ref No. LDTCS L4/2025)
- Waterberg District: 27 positions (Ref No. LDTCS L5/2025)
Minimum Requirements:
- Hold a Grade 12 certificate or equivalent
- Be between 18 and 35 years old
- Possess a valid Code B driver’s license (Manual Transmission)
- Have no criminal record
- Have no visible tattoos, contrary to professional conduct
- Provide a medical certificate confirming fitness for strenuous exercise
- Not be declared unfit to possess a firearm as per the Firearms Control Act, 2000 (Act 60 of 2000)
- Be willing to work shifts on a 24/7 basis, including weekends and public holidays
- Be ready for driving and competency tests
- Provide proof of South African citizenship (ID copy required)

- Original medical certificate confirming fitness
