The Ngwathe Local Municipality, situated in the Free State Province, has officially opened 27 Learnership opportunities for Traffic Trainees for a period of 12 months. This programme is designed to empower South African youth with skills and work exposure in the traffic law enforcement field.
The Municipality is committed to employment equity and encourages applications from unemployed youth residing permanently within Ngwathe Municipality. Selection will be made in line with the Municipality’s Employment Equity Policy and affirmative action practices.
Minimum requirements:
- Grade 12 certificate or equivalent qualification
- Valid driver’s licence (manual transmission)
- SAPS Clearance results confirming no criminal record
- Medical examination proof (fitness certificate)
- Permanent residence within the Ngwathe Municipality area
Candidates will be required to:
- Pass a written assessment and interview
- Pass a physical assessment
- Submit SAPS Clearance results
- Maintain a level of physical fitness and undergo ongoing fitness assessments
- Comply with the Code of Conduct of the Ngwathe Municipality
Special conditions:
- The Municipality is not obligated to offer a permanent position after completion of training
- Candidates will undergo extensive physical training at Mangaung Traffic Training Academy and firearm training in terms of the Firearms and Ammunition Act
