Central Applications Office (CAO) 2027 Application

 

 

The CAO online application is a crucial process for all students and individuals interested in pursuing a study in the KZN tertiary (university and college) education venture. Apart from the online process, interested students should put great emphasis on the timetable, registration deadline dates and requirements. If it’s your first time applying or you are not well acquainted with the Central Application Office requirements and registration process, do not stress.

The University of KwaZulu-Natal, also known as UKZN, is a university with five campuses in the province of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa. It was formed on 1 January 2004 after the merger between the University of Natal and the University of Durban-Westville.

UKZN online applications will close on 30 June for Medicine qualifications and 30 September for all other undergraduate programmes.

CAO application fees work a bit different. This means that you pay R250 for South African citizens and R300 for international applicants, and this will cover all the applications done for all universities in the province using CAO.

 

Entry term:

This time of year the programme starts.

 

There are two entry terms:

  1. Entry in the first semester, which starts between January and February
  2. Entry in the second semester, which starts between July and August

 

Duration:

The minimum number of months or years you would have to study is different and may be different for each institution. Please note that part-time study takes longer than full-time study.

 

Minimum points:

How to apply:

To log in to upload your documents, you must have the following:

1. CAO/ID Number AND
2. Cell phone (with cell number entered on your application) OR
3. Access to your email (which was entered on your application)

And you must have your documents saved in a file on your computer or a memory stick/flash drive.

 

Minimum documents required:

1. Copy of ID AND
2. Highest Qualification Achieved

How To Track Your UKZN Application

  1. Go to the CAO website.
  2. Click on ‘Check My Application’.
  3. Fill in details and follow the prompts
  4. You should be able to view your status then

 

UKZN Application Fee

You should pay the UKZN application fee when you make your application to study at UKZN. When submitting a CAO application, a full on-time administration fee of R250 needs to be paid, and this will cover all applications done on the CAO system.

If you are applying for NSFAS funding, you can indicate this with your application and ask for them to waive the application fee.
