This permanent municipal role is ideal for disciplined and motivated individuals who want to make a real difference in their community while gaining valuable experience in traffic management and public safety.
The traffic warden will play a key role in the following:
- Managing traffic flow during peak hours
- Assisting pedestrians, especially at school crossings
- Supporting law enforcement with traffic control
- Promoting road safety within the community
- Ensuring compliance with parking and road regulations
This role is perfect for candidates interested in law enforcement support services and municipal operations.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric) certificate
- Valid Code C1 driver’s licence
- Physically fit and able to work outdoors
- Willing to work shifts, including weekends if required
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team
Preference will be given to unemployed youth who meet the requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Controlling traffic at busy intersections
- Assisting during accidents and road emergencies
- Supporting safe crossing for learners at schools
- Monitoring and reporting traffic violations
- Issuing parking offence notices
- Assisting during road closures and diversions
- Maintaining communication with supervisors and control rooms
