To qualify for the Nedbank Bursary 2027, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be a South African citizen.
- Be currently in Matric or have completed Matric.
- Intend to study towards their first undergraduate or honours qualification in 2027.
- Be accepted or provisionally accepted to study full-time at a recognised South African public university or university of technology.
- Study within an approved STEM or Green Economy field.
- Have passed Mathematics in Matric (Mathematics Literacy will not be accepted).
- Achieve an average of at least 65% in the year of application.
- Achieve a minimum of 65% in subjects relevant to the intended qualification.
- Demonstrate proven financial need based on household income.
- Obtain parental or legal guardian consent if under the age of 18.

Additional Financial Documents for Shortlisted Applicants
If shortlisted, applicants and income-earning household members may be required to submit:
- Certified copies of parents’ or guardians’ IDs.
- Latest payslips and employment letters.
- Income and expenditure statements.
- Home loan statements and municipal accounts (where applicable).
- IRP5, IT3 and IT12 forms for commission earners.
- Pension slips or grant statements.
- Three months’ bank statements for all income earners in the household.
