Students gain practical training at five major hospitals in Johannesburg, rural hospitals in Gauteng, and the Donald Gordon Medical Centre, where clinical research is supported.
Humanities and Education
This faculty includes disciplines in the Arts, Social Sciences, Education, and Media. Choose between vocationally oriented programmes or theory and research-focused degrees.
- Wits School of Arts (WSoA) – Digital Arts, Theatre and Performance, Film and Television, Fine Arts, and Music.
- Wits School of Education (WSoE) – Teaching qualifications for Foundation Phase, Intermediate Phase, and Senior Phase/Further Education.
- School of Human and Community Development (SHCD) – Speech-Language Pathology, Audiology, and Social Work.
Science
With a tradition of excellence in teaching and research, the Faculty of Science offers degrees in various fields, including:

- Current Matriculants: Upload your final Grade 11 results (no hardcopy required).
- Already Matriculated: Upload certified copies of your matric certificate or foreign school leaving certificates.
- Applicants with Tertiary Education: Upload certified copies of all academic records, including a certificate of good conduct stamped by the institution’s registrar. Self-service-generated results are acceptable for GEMP applicants only.

You may apply for a maximum of three programmes (order of choice does not matter).
- Do you meet the admission requirements for your degree of choice?
- Apply before the closing date.
- Apply using your names as they appear on your ID book/card or passport (do not use initials or nicknames).

If you apply for two programmes within one Faculty, you are advised to apply for one programme in a less restricted faculty (e.g. Humanities, Commerce or Science).

Try to keep your study options open, especially when applying for programmes in faculties such as Health Sciences or Engineering.
- Do not enter the duration of the programme. You are applying to go into 1st year of study.
- In accordance with the POPI Act, applicants are required to complete their own applications and accept the University’s legal declaration of indemnity and undertaking. The University will not engage with third-party agents facilitating applications on behalf of applicants.
