    • Unemployed graduates with a university degree or diploma do not require Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy in their matric certificates.

  1. Other Requirements:
    • South African citizenship with a green bar-coded ID or smart card.
    • Age between 18 and 35 years.
    • Not employed for remuneration, including internships and learnership programs, at the time of application.
    • Not an educator, educator assistant, or AET lecturer.
    • Must not have worked as an Examination Assistant from 2020 to 2022.
    • Willingness to perform manual tasks.
    • Select only one marking centre per application.
    • Completed examinations at tertiary institutions before the employment period.
    • Apply online following the provided guidelines.

 

Scope of Work

Examination Assistants will be responsible for several key tasks at the Marking Centres:

  • Controlling scripts received and issued at Marking Centres.
  • Checking and verifying marks on scripts and mark sheets.
  • Performing manual tasks such as carrying boxes and tidying work areas.
  • Sorting and filing mark sheets.
  • Any additional tasks assigned by the management team.

 

Conditions of Employment

Examination Assistants must adhere to the following conditions:

  • Supervised by senior staff at marking and capturing centres.
  • No accommodation or transport provided.
  • Meals provided at Marking Centres (excluding breakfast).
  • Working hours from 08:00 to 20:00 daily, including public holidays.
  • Payment based on an hourly tariff as per the Personnel Administration Measures (PAM) document.
  • No overtime or leave granted during employment.
  • Must provide their own stationery.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and be physically fit.
  • Applicants involved in irregularities will not be considered.
