KZN Department of Health 2024 Nursing Training Intake
The KZN Nursing College is a public nursing college that offers programmes accredited by the South African Nursing Council (SANC) and Council on Higher Education (CHE) and registered with the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). The College is administered under the Department of Health in KwaZulu-Natal. The KZN Nursing College is a single nursing college instituted by eleven Campuses located across the various districts within the Province.
KZNCN programmes address the needs of KZN province with a focus on professional, legal and ethical foundations of nursing. Passionate academic employees guide students to become competent nurse practitioners with scientific backgrounds.
This programme takes into account the Primary Health Care (PHC) approach and encompasses the core competencies for disease prevention, health promotion, treatment and rehabilitation required to tackle the physical and psychosocial determinants of health, with the aim of contributing towards strengthening healthcare systems through the delivery of comprehensive, high quality and safe nursing services.

- Copy of matric certificate
- Copy of identity document
- Proof of residence or affidavit
- All copies of the highest qualifications
- A signed affidavit from the Commissioner of Oath, clearly indicating that you have not previously benefited from the Department of Health bursary system at the KZN College of Nursing
NB: Failure to comply with the above instructions will disqualify applicants.
Take Note Of The Following:
- Only shortlisted candidates will be required to submit certified and original documents following communication from the Nursing Campus.
- All certificates and addresses will be verified for authenticity.
- Applicants must come from the KwaZulu-Natal Province
- Applicants currently registered for studies elsewhere will not be considered for admission.
- Applicants who are currently receiving any other source of funding for study purposes will not be considered.
- Due to the large number of applications expected; only successful applicants will be notified.
