Based in southern Gauteng, Vaal University of Technology draws students from all regions of the country, as well as 25 other countries. It is one of the largest universities of technology in South Africa, with an annual enrolment of about 20,000 students. The university is well-positioned to make a substantial contribution to the development of human capital in the southern Gauteng region, the country and the continent.

VUT has four campuses:

• The Vanderbijlpark Campus in Gauteng
• Secunda Campus in Mpumalanga
• Daveyton in Ekurhuleni (also in Gauteng)
• Upington Campus in the Northern Cape
• Southern Gauteng Science and Technology Park is an extension of the Vanderbijlpark campus, which is in Sebokeng

 

Please note that the following Extended Diploma Qualifications are full:

• Extended Diploma: Chemical Engineering
• Extended Diploma: Civil Engineering
• Extended Diploma: Electrical: Computer Systems
• Extended Diploma: Electrical: Power
• Extended Diploma: Mechanical Engineering

 

Late Application Procedure:

• The University has opened late applications in programmes that have not yet met the required quotas. These online application process will be opened for all qualifying students in the following

 

Faculties, Departments and available programmes:

1. Faculty of Applied and Computer Sciences: Analytical Chemistry, Biotechnology, Environmental Studies and Information Technology.
2. Faculty of Engineering: All Departments and programmes (excluding extended programmes that are full).
3. Human Sciences: All programmes in the Visual Arts Department (Fine Art, Graphic Design, Fashion and Photography).
4. Management Sciences: All Accountancy Department programs (Financial Information Systems, Cost and Management Accounting, Internal Auditing) only.

 

Note for first years: Be reminded that registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Spaces are limited to the quota set per programme.

The University requests that all late applicants review the minimum admission requirements and apply only to programmes where they meet the minimum admission criteria
